My wife and I attended our first Portland Planning Board public hearing Oct. 4. We and several others wanted to voice concerns about the parking situation in our neighborhood with all the construction of new buildings, specifically the Wex Inc. project. We feel that they have not adequately answered questions as to where the parking they claim they will provide will be located or if it will be enough.

After listening to their presentation for two-plus hours, when it came time for our representatives to be heard, the chairwoman told us we were limited to three minutes. Can this really be the rule? All of this construction is having, has had and will forever have a major impact on our neighborhood.

We have concerns and we do not feel like those concerns were given the respect that we deserve. This cannot be the way planning is done all the time. We were very put off by this process.
