Why is it that the national anthem is sung only at sporting events? Why not sing it at official government proceedings? The president could lead Congress in a rousing rendition of it at the start of his State of the Union Address. I’d love to hear President Trump take a stab at it.
The Supreme Court could start off each session with it. It could be sung in state houses and at local city council meetings. It could replace reveille and taps at military bases around the world. Maybe it would inspire our representatives to serve the needs of the people and not the greed of the powerful.
