CUMBERLAND — The following are results from the southern Maine regional cross country championships on Saturday at Twin Brook Recreation Area.
CLASS A BOYS
The Falmouth boys scored 48 points to capture the regional title with Greely (56) close behind. Deering was thirs with 96. Alex Troxell of Deering placed first with a time of 16:51, followed by Luke Marsanskis of Greely and Yahya Nure of Deering.
CLASS A GIRLS
Standout freshman Sofie Matson won the individual title by 53 seconds with a time of 19:03. Carolyn Todd of Greely was second and Karley Piers, another Falmouth freshman, was third. But it was the Gorham girls winning the team with 72 points followed by Falmouth (101) and Greely (113).
CLASS B BOYS
The Lincoln Academy boys dominated Class B, scoring 41 points to finish ahead of Freeport (88) and Wells (105) to secure the team title. In the individual race it was Luke Laverdiere of Yarmouth dominating with a time of 16:11. Mitch Libby of Wells was second and Sam Russ of Lincoln Academy third.
CLASS B GIRLS
The Yarmouth girls prevailed in a tight race with 52 points with York (66) second and Cape Elizabeth (82) third. The top overall finisher was Anneka Murrin of Yarmouth on 19:31, followed by Lily Horne of Freeport and Lila Gaudrault of Cape Elizabeth third.
CLASS C GIRLS
The Maranacook girls won the team title with 37 points, followed by Maine Coast Waldorf (51) and St. Dominic (91). The top individual was freshman Olivia Reynolds of Maine Coast Waldorf with a time of 20:26. Molly McGrail of Maranacook was second and Olivia Skillings of Maine Coast Waldorf was third.
CLASS C BOYS
The Maine Coast Waldorf boys won the team title with 51 points followed by Boothbay (109) and Waynflkete (118). Henry Spritz of Waynflete finished in 17:43, three seconds ahead of Troy Hendricks of Sacopee Valley. In third was Luke Bartol of Maranacook.
