Portland’s Question 2 would devastate the fishing, food and beverage industries in Maine.

If passed, Portland’s Question 2 would allow a tiny minority of Portland voters to overrule approval of a cold storage facility on Portland’s working waterfront – a project vital to our region and our entire state and approved after a lengthy process by our elected officials, including input from a wide range of stakeholders.

And it would allow this handful of people to not only block the project, but also to do so retroactively and without the need for further public process or vote.

This would be devastating to the lobster industry, the region and our entire state, and it’s simply bad policy. We urge all to reject Portland’s Question 2.
