SACO — The Saco Meals Program, a nonprofit committed to feeding the hungry and needy in our area, has been selected as a beneficiary of the Hannaford Cause Bag program for the month of November

The Hannaford Cause Bag program launched in October 2015 and is designed to support local hunger relief organizations through the sale of the reusable Fight Hunger bag.

Saco Meals Program was selected by Hannaford store leadership as the November beneficiary of the program at the Saco Hannaford store.

For every reusable Fight Hunger bag with the message “This bag has helped feed someone in need” purchased at the Saco Hannaford during November, Saco Meals Program will receive a $.25 donation.

Saco Meals Program was founded in 1990 and its guests include individuals as well as families with children. They generally feed between 65 and 80 guests at each meal.

While a majority of thier clients are residents of Saco, they serve clients from Biddeford, Old Orchard Beach, Dayton, Lyman and Buxton.
