BRUNSWICK

The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency charged three people Tuesday with selling heroin and crack cocaine from a Brunswick home.

A substantial amount of heroin, crack cocaine and firearms were seized. The investigation and arrests were conducted by drug agents from the Mid-Coast District Task Force, Brunswick and Bath Police and Sagadahoc County Sheriff’s Office

Charged are:

 Matthew Chase, 40 of Brunswick for Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule Drugs, Class B

Tireek Donato, 28 of Brooklyn, New York for Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule Drugs, Class B

Gerell Haynes, 32 of Brooklyn, New York for Unlawful Trafficking in Schedule Drugs, Class B

On Tuesday, agents from the Mid Coast District Task Force along with officers from the Brunswick and Bath Police Departments as well as the Sagadahoc Sheriff’s Office searched a home on Front Street in Brunswick.

The search followed a month-long investigation into drug sales from the home, located in the Maplewood Manor mobile home park. Agents detained Chase on Front Street  and the two others were arrested at the home .

Seized were 20 grams of crack cocaine packaged in 67 individual bags, 8 grams of heroin, also packaged in separate bags, $5,600 in suspected drug proceeds. Also seized was a .40 caliber handgun and 12-gauge shotgun. 

Both Donato and Haynes were arrested and transported to the Cumberland County Jail where bail was set at $10,000 cash. Chase was summonsed on his charge.

The Front Street homeowner was not present at the time of the search warrant. Charges will be submitted to the Attorney General’s Office for review.
