Testifying before the House Judiciary Committee last week (regarding what he knew about the Trump campaign’s dealings with Russians), Attorney General Jeff Sessions would have done well to have followed the example of a witness (himself a lawyer, connected to President Nixon) who stated under oath during the Watergate hearings, without a trace of irony, “I stand on my previous testimony, whatever it was.”
