LEWISTON — Lauren Topchik and scored two goals each Wednesday to lead Scarborough to a 7-0 victory against Biddeford/Thornton Academy/Wells in a girls’ hockey game at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

Ivy DiBiase, Taylor Veilleux and Lucy Bogdanovich also scored in a three-minute span of the third period, giving the Red Storm (1-1) a 5-0 lead against the Tigers (1-1).

Bogdanovich and Grace Murphy each had two assists, and Topchik added another.

LEWISTON 10, BRUNSWICK 1: Freshmen scored the Blue Devils’ first four goals – and six total – as Lewiston/Monmouth Academy/Oak Hill (1-0) defeated Brunswick (0-2) at Lewiston.

After Brie Dube scored an early goal, Madison Conley scored twice 55 seconds apart, with linemates Gemma Landry and Sara Robert assisting on both, as Lewiston opened a 3-0 lead after 12 minutes.

The Dragons (0-2) cut into the lead with just under two minutes to play in the first period. Colleen McKearney scored from freshman Elena Palmer.

But Landry scored 30 seconds into the second on a rebound of a shot by Conley, and Anna Dodge added three of the next four goals for the Blue Devils, with the first coming 48 seconds after Landry scored.

Grace Dumond and Katie Lemieux rounded out the scoring in the third. Dube assisted on both and Landry had an assist on Lemieux’s goal.

“That’s a team that can win states right there. No doubt,” Brunswick Coach Dave Boucher said.

Hannah Wentworth finished with 11 saves for the Dragons and Nadia Leiner, who came on in the third period, had nine.

Camree St. Hilaire stopped 11 of 12 shots for the Blue Devils.

WINSLOW 7, YARMOUTH 4: Evelyn Hinkley scored three goals, including a go-ahead goal 11:54 into the third as Winslow/Gardiner beat Yarmouth/Freeport in an opener at Yarmouth.

Sophia McGrath scored twice for Yarmouth and tied the game at 4-4 after 13:20 of the third.

Hinkley put in her go-ahead goal less than two minutes later, then scored her third goal of the game with 5:24 remaining to push the lead to 6-4.

Sarah Stevens, who scored twice, added a goal in the final 20 seconds for the Raiders.
