BUFFALO, N.Y. — Tristan Jarry made 34 saves for his first career shutout, Sidney Crosby extended his point streak to five games and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Buffalo Sabres 4-0 Friday night for their third straight victory.

Crosby had a goal and an assist, and Tom Kuhnhackl, Jake Guentzel and Patric Hornqvist also scored in the first game of a home-and-home set.

Pittsburgh is 3-0-2 in games Jarry has started. Jany is filling in for Matt Murray, who has a lower-body injury.

The Sabres have lost 10 of 11 and have gone scoreless in three straight for the first time in franchise history.

RANGERS 5, HURRICANES 1: Michael Grabner scored three goals, including two empty-netters, to lead New York to a win at home.

David Desharnais and Paul Carey also scored to help the Rangers win for the ninth time in their last 10 at home and improve to 11-3-0 in their last 14 overall.

Justin Williams scored 56 seconds into the game – getting his 700th career point – to give Carolina the early lead. The Hurricanes lost their 14th consecutive game at Madison Square Garden, dating back to January 5, 2011.

SENATORS 6, ISLANDERS 5: Ryan Dzingel’s second goal of the game snapped a tie early in the third period and Ottawa ended a seven-game losing streak with a win at New York, which lost at home in regulation for the first time this season (8-1-2).

BLUE JACKETS 4, DUCKS 2: Josh Anderson scored the go-ahead goal with just under five minutes to lift Columbus over visiting Anaheim.

Anderson also had two assists, Artemi Panarin had a goal and two assists, and Brandon Dubinsky contributed a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who have won 8 of 9. Nick Foligno added an empty-net goal.

SHARKS 2, PANTHERS 1: Joe Pavelski scored his 300th goal and Chris Tierney tallied the tiebreaking goal in the third period as San Jose won at Florida.

BLACKHAWKS: Chicago placed Corey Crawford on injured reserve, sidelining one of the NHL’s top goaltenders for at least a week.

The Blackhawks provided no details about the injury.
