Thornton Academy’s Ryan Cadorette, left, and Deering’s Iid Sheikh-Yusuf battle it out over the last 20 meters of the boys 3,200-meter race at the SMAA Southwesterns outdoor track and field championships on Saturday at Scarborough High School. Sheikh-Yusuf won the head-to-head race to win the event by a miniscule five-tenths of a second with a time of 9:57.59.
