No one was injured and firefighters were able to control the blaze in about 30 minutes.
The fire appears to have been caused by an electrical malfunction within the vehicle, said Lebanon Fire and EMS Capt. J.T Harmon.
Harmon said crews were called out at about 8:32 p.m. to a location near the Lebanon town line with the city of Sanford.
“Engine 2 arrived on scene to find fire showing from the RV,” said Harmon in a news release. “Crews stretched two lines and began attacking the fire. A mutual aid engine was requested from Sanford Fire and a mutual aid tanker was requested from Acton Fire. Responding units from Lebanon included Ambulance 2, Engine 2, Tank 5 and Squad 1.”
He said the fire was brought under control at 9:03 p.m. and the driver was the only person in the RV.
Harmon said the department offered special thanks to the York County Sheriff’s Office, Maine State Police, Maine Department of Transportation, Hartford’s Truck Repair and Towing and National Wrecker Service for assistance at the scene.
