AUGUSTA, GA — MSgt. (Ret) John Charles Bouchard, 47, formerly of Brunswick ME, answered the call from heaven on December 31, 2017.

John was born and raised in Brunswick, Maine. He was a graduate of Brunswick High School. John knew where he wanted to go to college and only applied to one, St Michael’s College in Vermont, where he was immediately accepted. John graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a minor in Russian language. After graduation, John enlisted in the United States Air Force. He devoted 21 years of service to his country. John loved to fly, and his career took him around the globe on several Air Force platforms. He truly lived his passion. His career took him places most could only dream about. After retirement from the Air Force, John called Augusta, GA home. John was most happy spending time with his family and making those around him smile or groan with epic dad jokes. His daughter Lily was his crowning achievement. He was the proudest dad cheering the loudest for his “baby girl.”

John leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife, Ginny, daughter Lily, parents Gerard & Patricia, brother Geoffrey, second mother (Aunt) Diane Scribner, Godfather Robert Bouchard, aunt Pauline Nesbit, uncles Raymond Bouchard (Diane), Charles Scribner, cousins Brian Bouchard (Mary), Will Nesbit, Eric Nesbit (Kayti). John was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frieda & Franklin Scribner, paternal grandparents Émile & Rose Anna Bouchard, and Godmother Anne Bouchard.

A mass of Christian burial will be held 11 am Tuesday January 16, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Church, Pleasant Street, Brunswick. Local arrangements are in the care of the Brackett Funeral Home, Brunswick.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in memory of John to Operation Second Chance 20251 St Century Blvd. Germantown, MD 20874 or Folds of Honor Foundation 8551 N 125th E Ave Suite 100 Owasso, OK 74055. These two organizations directly impacted the Bouchard family during this journey.
