Hanson brings more than 20 years of experience in the food business, starting with Barber Foods in Portland and expanding into other operations in Oklahoma and the Carolinas through the acquisition of Barber by AdvancePierre Foods in 2011.

 

Kate Carey joined Powers Real Estate in Yarmouth.
Carey brings experience in commercial and residential real estate development.

Sheila Adams was named vice president of sales and marketing at Maine Coast, a distributor of North American lobster in York.
Adams brings more than 25 years of sales, marketing and management experience to Maine Coast.

DeStefano Architects hired David Sanders as a project architect.
Sanders brings nearly 12 years of experience in design and project management of new, renovation and sustainable construction. Previously, Sanders was project architect at Shepley Bulfinch in Boston.

 

The Maine Community Foundation appointed Gloria Aponte Clarke as program officer.
Aponte Clarke will work with donors and nonprofits, and manage several competitive grant programs. Most recently, she managed and directed the Maine State Innovation Model to improve health care for Mainers.

 

The Maine College of Art named Julie D’Andrea vice president of development.
D’Andrea has led major fundraising campaigns in New York City at Barnard College, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Roundabout Theatre Co. and Carnegie Hall.

Since 2012, D’Andrea has served Barnard College at Columbia University as executive director of campaign advancement.

Larraine Brown was named director of the Belfast Creative Coalition.
Brown brings more than 30 years of experience in management, fundraising and development of nonprofits, and startup businesses.
Most recently, she served as the executive director of the Restorative Justice Project Maine.

 

PROMOTIONS
The University of New England promoted Curt Smyth to director of athletics.
Smyth currently serves as the interim director of athletics. Smyth joined the athletics staff in 1997. Since then, he held various coaching positions before moving into administrative roles.

CBRE | The Boulos Co. promoted Samantha Marinko as an associate.
Marinko works in areas of commercial real estate including office, retail, industrial, development and investment properties in central and southern Maine.

 

 

Maine Coast promoted Michael Delahanty to chief financial officer and Peter Brent to vice president of operations.
Delahanty was hired as a corporate controller in 2015. He previously served as regional controller and manager of financial planning and analysis at Idexx Laboratories.
Brent joined the team since 2013. Since then, he has invested his time learning all facets of the business.
