Maine State Police are investigating the death of a man in the Aroostook County town of Bridgewater, saying that it appears to be suspicious.
Steve McCausland, a spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety, said in a statement that state police and deputies from the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office were sent to a home at 227 Boundary Line Road to investigate a 911 call that came in around 6 p.m.
They found the man’s body when they arrived. A team of state police detectives was sent to Bridgewater to investigate.
Aroostook County Sheriffs Office asked residents on Boundary Line Road to remain inside and lock their doors during the initial investigation, WCSH-TV reported. The sheriff’s office lifted the order around 11 p.m.
No other details were available late Wednesday.
