She was born in Biddeford on Dec. 22, 1932, a daughter of John and Georgianna (Lachance) Bissonnette.
Noella was homemaker who enjoyed raising her family. She also was employed for a short time at Wormwood’s Restaurant and at Huot’s Restaurant in Camp Ellis.
Noella was very creative, she was a cake decorator, making many cakes for weddings and special occasions. She also was an accomplished seamstress always keeping her girls in the latest fashion.
Noella enjoyed bingo and especially the time she spent with her family and friends. Some of her most enjoyable times were with her grandchildren. Through her teachings in life, we were able to create many wonderful memories that we will cherish forever. Her spirit and her full of life personality will be sadly missed by many.
Throughout her life, she gained an appreciation for the importance of her faith and was a long time parishioner of the former St. Andre’s Church and most recently of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
She was predeceased by her daughter Joan Platt on June 17, 2017, her grandson Nicholas Platt on Nov. 2, 1986 and by 15 brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Armand A. Gilbert; her two daughters Janice Gilbert and June Acin and her husband Philippe, all of Biddeford; and son-in-law Richard Platt. She is also survived by four grandchildren Stewart Platt and his wife Hannah, Brianna Gilbert, Philippe Acin and his wife Rebecca and Mikel Acin; one great-granddaughter Isabella Gilbert; one sister Theresa Stickles; and several nieces and nephews.
Visiting Hours will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 26, 2018, at Cote Funeral Home Chapel, 87 James St., Saco. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 27, 2018, at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
