CLAREMONT, N.H. — New Hampshire authorities say a doctor who self-reported a sexual relationship with a patient last year has been charged with aggravated felonious sexual assault.
Police say 50-year-old Eric Knight, of Derry, New Hampshire, turned himself in to Claremont police on an arrest warrant on Friday. He was released on $25,000 personal recognizance bail. A message seeking comment was left for his lawyer. Knight is scheduled for arraignment Feb. 12.
The New Hampshire Board of Medicine says it suspended Knight’s medical license in September after he disclosed in May that he engaged in the sexual relationship. Knight, who was a family practice physician in Claremont, voluntarily surrendered his credentials in May. He also worked at Valley Regional Hospital, which fired him in June.
