ARUNDEL — Floyd C. Chasse Sr., 96, of Arundel, died Tuesday, Feb. 20, 2018 at his home.

He was born March 27, 1921 in Biddeford, a son of Treffle and Gertrude (Rock) Chasse and was educated in Biddeford.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

On Oct. 24, 1964 he married Yvette T. Bedard in St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.

Together they operated Chasse’s Organic Farm on the Log Cabin Road in Arundel. He was also a landscaper and gardener on many estates in the Kennebunkport area.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, especially rabbit hunting with his dogs. Annually he would tap the maple trees on his property to produce syrup.

Floyd was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters.

He is survived by Yvette, his wife of 53 years, of Arundel; a daughter, Dolores Prescott of Concord, New Hampshire; a son, Floyd Chasse Jr. and his wife Ann of Chattanooga, Tennessee; grandchildren Bradley, Melanie, and Vanessa Prescott; and a great-grandson, Carson Floyd Cooper.

Visiting Hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, 2018 at Hope Memorial Chapel, 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in the Spring.
