MILLINOCKET — Police say they have arrested a woman in North Carolina in connection with the death of a Millinocket man.
Alexis Locklear was arrested in Maxton, North Carolina, on Thursday. Police say she was charged in connection with the Dec. 19 shooting of Wayne Lapierre, 59, and his wife, Diem Lapierre, 33, during an apparent home invasion. Lapierre later died of his wounds.
The couple’s two children were at home when the shooting took place, but neither was injured.
Locklear was indicted by a grand jury Wednesday on charges of murder and robbery in the case.

Police say Locklear’s father, Tony Locklear, and boyfriend, Christopher Murray, were also indicted Wednesday. They say Tony Locklear remains at large while Murray was arrested and brought back to Maine in late December.
Police say fugitive proceedings will take place in North Carolina before Alexis Locklear is returned to Maine. It was unclear on Thursday if she had retained an attorney.
