A former Palmyra man pleaded guilty Thursday in U.S. District Court to a charge of failing to register as a sex offender.
Bradley Flowers, 40, was sentenced to time served, which is 28 months, plus five years and 30 days of supervised release, the first six months of which will be in community confinement, according to a news release from the Department of Justice.
Records showed that Flowers was required to register as a sex offender for life after a 2006 conviction for unlawful sexual contact in Maine. From July 2007 to June 2014, he registered with the Maine Sex Offender Registry as required; but in September 2014, he moved to Colorado and did not register there. After that, he lived in Ohio and Arizona, but did not register in either of those states. On Oct. 20, 2015, Flowers was arrested in Arizona and has been in custody since then.
Judge John Woodcock said some of Flowers’ criminal history was “disturbing,” and at times in the past, Flowers had been “violent and dangerous.”
