LEWISTON — Cam Dionne scored twice and top-ranked Lewiston added a pair of power-play goals to defeat Bangor 5-2 in a Class A North boys’ hockey semifinal Saturday night at the Androscoggin Bank Colisee.

It’s the fourth year in a row and fifth time in six years that the Blue Devils have beaten the Rams in the playoffs.

No. 1 Lewiston advances to the regional final Tuesday at the Colisee.

The Blue Devils (17-2) took the lead 5:16 into the game when Dionne scored at the end of a four-shot sequence.

The fourth-seeded Rams (12-8) went on the power play soon after, and halfway through it turned into a two-man advantage, but Lewiston goalie Conrad Albert and the Blue Devils’ defense turned away four shots.

Bangor goalie Jacob Henry had to make two point-blank saves during a Lewiston power play to keep it 1-0 at the end of the period.

The power play carried over into the second period, however, and Lewiston converted as Sam Frechette finished off an assist from Jayden Wilson.

The Rams responded with a breakaway goal from Reid Higgs exactly two minutes later, but Dustin Larochelle scored another Lewiston power-play goal 59 seconds after that.

Dionne scored his second goal, assisted by Gunnar Wade for the second time, less than two minutes into the third.

David Brown put in the rebound of a Higgs shot to cut the deficit back to two with seven minutes left, but Alex Robert scored for Lewiston with 1:31 remaining.

Albert made 23 saves, while Henry had 20 saves.

ST. DOMINIC 3, EDWARD LITTLE 0: Jaden Webster, Mack Pelletier and Jacques Ouellette scored on consecutive shots late in the second period as the third-seeded Saints (10-8-2) beat the No. 3 Red Eddies (11-7-1) to advance to the Class A North final.

Freshman Gage Letourneau added a pair of goals and Connor DeMerchant had three assists for Presque Isle, which went 4 for 6 on the power play.
