Portland International Jetport has won its second Airport Service Quality award, an international benchmark of customer experience quality.

The airport was named best airport under 2 million passengers in North America in 2017 by Airports Council International, a worldwide airport trade group.

“We are in a very competitive air service market, where the consumer has a wide range of choices,” airport Director Paul Bradbury said in a prepared statement. “The best way to win over customers is to provide a better experience, and our performance in the ASQ survey demonstrates that our customer experience is best-in-class for airports our size in North America.”

The award is based on passenger surveys taken at more than 340 airports in 85 countries, according to the airports council. Portland won the same award in 2015. Last year, a record 1.86 million passengers came through Portland.
