This month, the Senate is expected to vote on ending the illegal U.S. war in Yemen, which has plunged the country into the world’s largest humanitarian crisis. I ask that Sen. Susan Collins and Sen. Angus King support S.J.Res. 54, introduced by the bipartisan trio of Sens. Bernie Sanders, Mike Lee and Chris Murphy, to withdraw U.S. armed forces from the Saudi-led war in Yemen.

There are 22.2 million people currently in need of humanitarian assistance or protection in Yemen. As a humanitarian relief worker, I can testify to the catastrophic, dehumanizing and atrocious effects of this man made crisis on children, women and the most vulnerable. It’s time to end this suffering. I trust Sens. Collins and King will openly support this bipartisan resolution and stand on the side of humanity.
