BRUNSWICK — The Orion Performing Arts Center, Maine School Administrative District 75’s theater inside Mt. Ararat Middle School, will benefit from a fundraiser at Gelato Fiasco March 26.

When a customer shows a flyer coupon to their cashier, Gelato Fiasco will donate 100 percent of purchase back to the Orion’s capital needs fund. Flyers are available at the Mt. Ararat Middle School or can be downloaded from orionperformingartscenter.org.

Gelato Fiasco, at 74 Maine St., Brunswick, is open 11 am to 11 pm. Gelato dishes, coffee, tea, waffle cones, single serving fancy desserts, Create-a-Pints, and Mystery Pints are eligible. Gifts, cookies, tax, gift cards, coffee beans, The Fiasco, and freezer pints are not. Flyers to support the Orion can’t be distributed at the store, so get yours in advance, or mention it to the cashier.

The Orion Advisory Committee is raising money to install a projector and improve lights and sound systems at the theater in hopes of the stage more attractive and useful for performances and community groups. Orion hosts school band, chorus and drama productions and community groups such as Midcoast Symphony, Midcoast Youth Theater, Down East Dance Festival, The Ballet School, Maine Coast Heritage Trust land conservation conference, The Moving Co. Dance Studio and more.
