ATLANTA — Ryan Flaherty had four hits and scored four times, and Ender Inciarte drove in four runs with three hits Saturday night as the Atlanta Braves roughed up Vince Velasquez and the Philadelphia Phillies for a 15-2 victory.

Brandon McCarthy (1-0) allowed two runs in 5 1/3 innings in his Braves debut.

Velasquez (0-1) faltered in a tough spot for Philadelphia after it used a combined 13 relievers in the first two games of the series. He was charged with seven runs, four earned, and nine hits in 2 2/3 innings.

Six Phillies pitchers allowed 19 hits, and the defense committed four errors. Utility player Pedro Florimon pitched the eighth and gave up a two-run homer to pinch-hitter Lane Adams.

Flaherty, who signed with the Braves on March 25 after he was released by the Phillies, is 7 for 13 in the first three games of the season.

METS 6, CARDINALS 2: Yoenis Cespedes and Travis d’Arnaud homered, Todd Frazier drove in three runs and New York won at home.

Jacob DeGrom pitched effectively into the sixth inning and the Mets, under new manager Mickey Callaway, opened at 2-0 for the first time since 2013.

NATIONALS 13, REDS 7: Adam Eaton had solo homer among his career-high five hits and Brian Goodwin hit his first career grand slam, powering Washington at Cincinnati.

The Nationals won their first two games under new manager Dave Martinez, hired after Dusty Baker was fired last season following another quick exit in the playoffs. The last time they opened a season 2-0 was 2013.

AMERICAN LEAGUE

INDIANS 6, MARINERS 5: Yonder Alonso hit his third career grand slam in the first inning, Yan Gomes added a two-run shot and Cleveland held on at Seattle.

Seattle starter James Paxton struggled with command and failed to make it out of the fifth.

BLUE JAYS 5, YANKEES 3: Yangervis Solarte hit a tiebreaking homer in the eighth inning and Kevin Pillar added a run by stealing second, third and home as Toronto won at home for its first victory of the season.

Tyler Austin homered twice for the Yankees.

ANGELS 8, ATHLETICS 3: Mike Trout had three hits and two RBI, and Zack Cozart also drove in two runs for visiting Los Angeles.

The Angels finished with 12 hits. Albert Pujols had two hits and two RBI, and No. 9 batter Rene Rivera had two hits and scored two runs.

ASTROS 9, RANGERS 3: Lance McCullers Jr. struck out 10 in 51/3 innings, and Carlos Correa and Jake Marisnick each hit a two-run homer for Houston at Arlington, Texas.

TWINS 6, ORIOLES 2: Kyle Gibson held Baltimore hitless over six innings before being replaced by Ryan Pressly, who kept the no-hitter intact until the eighth for visiting Minnesota.

WHITE SOX 4, ROYALS 3: Wellington Castillo delivered a go-ahead two-run double with two outs in the eighth inning and Chicago rallied at Kansas City, Missouri.

BRAVES: Kelsey Wingert, a television reporter who covers the team for Fox Sports South, suffered a fractured eye socket when she was hit by a foul ball Friday night.

RANGERS: Center fielder Delino DeShields is expected to miss four to six weeks after breaking a bone in his left hand while taking a swing.
