Bangor police say the homemade cookies that reportedly made employees of a daycare center feel high did not contain drugs.

The staff of Watch Me Shine on Gilman Avenue called police on Valentine’s Day to report their suspicions that a batch of baked good provided by a parent were laced with marijuana. Multiple staff members reported “a feeling of marijuana intoxication,” police said at the time.

Investigators from the Bangor Police Department collected several of the cookies for testing.

“Those cookies were sent to the state crime lab for analysis and after thorough testing, none of the cookies tested positive for controlled substances,” Sgt. Wade Betters said in a news release Monday. “The cause of the staff’s feeling of intoxication is currently unknown.”

No charges are pending, Betters said.
