BRUNSWICK

Brunswick students continue to speak out on gun violence.

In addition to a walkout and rally in which they’ve already taken part, students have organized a town hall Saturday that will be open to the public.

The event will take place from 10 a.m. to noon in the school’s Crooker Theater, located at 116 Maquoit Road.

“We are proud to present a panel consisting of State Senator Brownie Carson, State Representative Mattie Daughtry, Brunswick Chief of Police Richard Rizzo, Whitney Parrish of the National Alliance on Mental Illness Maine, and representatives from the town council and the school board to discuss the topic of gun violence in collaboration with the Town Hall For Our Lives movement,” an event announcement states.

Audience members can ask questions at the event or submit questions for the panel ahead of time on the event’s Facebook page, “Brunswick Area Town Hall,” or by visiting tinyurl.com/BMEATH.

This nonpartisan event has been organized by student activists, including Pearl Stuart, Aidan Perkinson, Grace Clendening and Gabri Sparks.
