I read with interest the Feb. 2 article by Kevin Miller about ranked-choice voting, which will be on Maine ballots this June.
In Santa Fe, New Mexico, we recently participated in a ranked-choice vote for the first time for mayor and City Council, and it was a terrific success.
An exit survey taken the day of the vote (March 6) showed a very positive response – remarkable for a city that prides itself on keeping old traditions. Here’s a link to the survey: https://bit.ly/2pSQmlG.
Ranked-choice voting makes voting sense, and it makes voting fun! (For grammar folks: In the previous sentence, “voting” is an adjective and a gerund!) So good luck in Maine – we are watching!
