BANGOR – Authorities say a man getting off a plane in Maine has been arrested in connection with a homicide investigation in North Carolina.

WGAN-AM reports authorities said 26-year-old Javon Richardson, of Brewer, was arrested at the Bangor International Airport on Monday.

Police in Bangor said they were contacted by the Halifax County Sheriff’s Department in North Carolina indicating that Richardson was on the flight.

Police arrested him without incident. They had a full extradition warrant for Richardson charging him with obstructing justice in connection with an April 11 homicide in Hollister, North Carolina.

Richardson was taken to Penobscot County Jail and will be held pending extradition back to North Carolina.

It was not immediately known if he had a lawyer and a phone number couldn’t be found for him.
