GORHAM — Devin Warren scored on Andrew Hillier’s fielder’s choice in the bottom of the 10th Thursday as the University of Southern Maine edged Babson 4-3 in baseball.

A two-run double by Jake Oliger gave Babson (21-10) its initial lead in the top of the fourth, but Zach Quintal hit a solo home run in the fifth inning for Southern Maine (18-7).

Brian McHale scored on Edward Lehr’s double to extend the Beavers’ lead to 3-1 in the seventh, but the Huskies pulled even on Sam Troiano’s homer in the seventh and an RBI fielder’s choice from Andrew Olszak in the eighth.

Warren and Hillier each went 2 for 5.

COLBY 6, THOMAS 2: Tommy McGee hit a two-run single to pace a three-run top of the first as the Mules (6-15) beat the Terriers (3-24) in Waterville.

Thomas got a run back in the bottom of the second on Riley Simonetti fielder’s choice, but Colby extended its lead to 5-1 in the fourth on RBI singles from Will Phillips and Matt Treveloni.

The Terriers picked up an unearned in the eighth, and William Wessman rounded out the scoring in the top of the ninth with a run-scoring single for the Mules.

Phillips went 4 for 5 with a triple and two runs scored.

BARD 13, BATES 11: Ryan Chipman hit a two-run double in the third and added a two-run triple in the fifth as the Raptors (12-13) edged the Bobcats (10-12) at Annandale-in-Hudson, New York.

Chris Blake and Julian Gonzalez each added a two-run double.

Kyle Carter had a two-run single for Bates. Rob Matson and Reed Mszar added RBI doubles.

WOMEN’S LACROSSE

SOUTHERN MAINE 24, NEW ENGLAND COLLEGE 16: Aliza Jordan powered the offense for the Huskies (8-5) with eight goals, including five in the second half, and added an assist and eight ground balls as USM pulled away from the Pilgrims (8-6) in a nonconference game at Gorham.

Allison Irish and Colleen Fleming each had five goals and two assists for Southern Maine, and Alex Farley and Megan Violette chipped in with a pair of goals each.

Tara Bainbridge led New England College with seven goals.
