As the mystery continues over abnormally high electricity costs, I have seen very little written about rates.
In an April 11 article, Staff Writer Dennis Hoey described recent rate increases as “modest.” Over the past few months, mine have increased from 14 cents per kilowatt hour to 24 cents, and several of my friends have experienced the same. That is hardly a modest increase! Why?
I cannot believe that managers at Central Maine Power do not know the answer.
