It looks like we’re settling into a solid spring weather pattern.

I’m not saying we’re flipping the switch to a sustained warm pattern yet. There will be cool and wet days in the mix, but any cooler days look like bumps in the road. In other words, it looks like actual mid- to late-spring weather.

After this round of rain moves through, dropping 1 to 2 inches in spots, Friday should be a decent day. We’ll start with sun, but it will become cloudy during the afternoon. Highs will be in the 60s inland, 50s to near 60 along the coast. A period of rain is expected Friday evening and night.

Saturday will be partly cloudy with a few passing showers. A cold front moves through Saturday, then it will turn cooler and breezy for Sunday. The good news is that this cool shot of air looks brief.

A big area of high pressure will move across the eastern United States. It will become anchored off the East Coast during the beginning to middle of next week, taking the position of a ‘Bermuda’ high.

It looks like we will have a steady climb in temperature next week. Of course, the question in Maine in the spring is how warm. Any wind off the water can cool us down significantly.

Right now, it looks like Monday will be partly sunny and near 60. Temperatures may hit 70 degrees in some inland towns Tuesday.

Highs in the upper 70s to low 80s are possible during the middle of the week.
