BIDDEFORD — Biddeford scored four runs in the second inning Thursday and went on to an 8-3 victory against Sanford in an SMAA baseball game.
Evan Paquette hit an RBI double, and Colin Lavigne and Kurtis Edgerton drove in runs with singles in the second for the Tigers (4-0) against the Spartans (0-3).
Paquette went 3 for 3 and Lavigne added a pair of hits.
TRAIP ACADEMY 27, WAYNFLETE 1: Teddy Driscoll had three singles and three runs, and Sam Kilty had a single, a double and four runs as the Rangers (2-0) handled the Flyers (0-2) in five innings at Kittery.
Connor Reed and Bobby Lane added two hits and two runs each.
BOYS’ LACROSSE
PORTLAND 14, WESTBROOK 5: Reilly O’Brien had nine goals and two assists for the Bulldogs (2-0), who built a 7-3 halftime lead and pulled away from the Blue Blazes (0-1) at Westbrook.
Sam Shaw had two goals and two assists, and Sam Gerber added a pair of goals for Portland.
GIRLS’ LACROSSE
LAWRENCE 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 5: Cassandra Poli had five goals and an assist as Lawrence (2-0) beat Lincoln Academy (0-3) at Waterville.
MORSE 14, OCEANSIDE 5: Emily Martin scored seven goals, and Abbie Baker and Maddie McDonough added two goals apiece as the Shipbuilders (2-0) cruised past the Mariners (0-1) at Bath.
