This year voters in Gorham, as well as parts of Buxton and Scarborough, have the opportunity to send an extraordinary candidate to the Maine Senate, which is the reason I am supporting Linda Sanborn in the upcoming Democratic primary election.
Dr. Sanborn is qualified for countless reasons, but for me she stands above other candidates in three specific areas.
First, Linda knows our community and its needs. For 25 years, she and her family have lived in Gorham where, as a family physician, Linda connected with many of us in a very personal way. As a result, she understands how important access to affordable health care is for all Mainers.
Secondly, in addition to advocating for a healthier Maine, during her four terms as a House member Linda worked tirelessly on behalf of seniors. In recognition for these efforts, she received an award from the Maine Council on Aging.
Finally, Dr. Sanborn is the “real deal.” She is a brilliant, honest, compassionate, resourceful, energetic Clean Election candidate who has earned my respect and my vote. I urge others in Maine Senate District 30 to join me in supporting and voting for Linda Sanborn on June 12.
