GRAY — Fryeburg Academy capitalized on five errors Friday and emerged with a 5-3 victory against Gray-New Gloucester in a Western Maine Conference softball game.

Emilia DeSanctis earned the win for Fryeburg (4-2), striking out four and walking none. Alison Martell of the Patriots (3-4) struck out 11 with no walks.

Mikaela Ryan and Lydia Espling each had two hits for Gray-New Gloucester, including an RBI double by Espling in the sixth inning.

BIDDEFORD 13, DEERING 1: Kaitlyn Stewart allowed three hits and struck out nine to lead the Tigers (4-2) over the Rams (0-8) in six innings at Portland.

Biddeford scored seven runs in the fourth to take a 10-0 lead, highlighted by Brook Davis’s two-run triple. Alexis Matteau recorded three hits for the Tigers.

NOBLE 6, SANFORD 3: Kassidy Lessard hit a three-run homer to highlight a four-run third inning, breaking a 2-2 tie as the Knights (5-1) downed the Spartans (1-7) at North Berwick.

Noble opened the scoring with a two-run first, including an RBI double by Mackenzie Aleva. Sanford answered with a run-scoring triple by Marli Wilson in the second and an RBI double in the third by Kaitlyn Farmer.

MARSHWOOD 4, SOUTH PORTLAND 2: Kaylah Eastman beat the throw home for the go-ahead run as the Hawks (2-3) scored four times in the sixth inning to overtake South Portland (4-3) at South Berwick.

Eastman singled home Emersyn Colbach-Stevens for the first run of the rally. Lianne Walker’s fielder’s choice drove in Molly Glidden to tie it before Eastman outran the throw to the plate on Anna Hayes’s grounder to short. Walker added the final run on Erin Gray’s fielder’s choice.

GORHAM 11, WESTBROOK 3: Kali Perry had a pair of triples and drove in three runs for the Rams (5-2), who took a 7-0 lead after two innings and downed the Blue Blazes (3-5) at Gorham.

Grace McGouldrick was 3 for 4 with three RBI, and Tatyanna Biamby and Kiana Tracey each chipped in with a pair of hits for Gorham.

CAPE ELIZABETH 6, FREEPORT 1: Kathleen Ledoux’s RBI single highlighted a five-run eighth inning as the Capers (2-3) defeated the Falcons (0-5) at Freeport.

Julia Torre led off the game for Cape Elizabeth with a double, advanced on a fly ball and scored on a sacrifice fly by Jessica Robicheaw.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 20, ST. DOMINIC 6: Morgan Howlett-Brown drove in six runs as Old Orchard Beach (2-3) beat the Saints (2-4) in a six-inning game at Auburn.

The Seagulls opened a 5-0 lead in the first behind Howlett- Brown’s three-run single, then stretched the margin to 10-0 in the second.

WELLS 7, YARMOUTH 6: Karissa Kenyon pitched a four-hitter with 19 strikeouts and scored in the 11th inning for the Warriors (4-2) against the Clippers (1-3) at Wells.

After Tasha Powers homered in the top of the 11th for Yarmouth, Kenyon tied it on a double and scored on a single by Olivia Durfee, who had three hits.

SCARBOROUGH 9, MASSABESIC 0: Laura Powell went 3 for 4, including a home run, as the Red Storm (7-0) shut out the Mustangs (3-3) at Waterboro.

Samantha Carreiro had a pair of hits, including a sixth-inning homer, and Bella Dickinson added a first-inning homer for Scarborough.

CHEVERUS 11, BONNY EAGLE 10: Alexandra Hammond broke a 9-9 tie with a two-run homer in the fifth inning as Cheverus/North Yarmouth Academy (1-6) snapped a 46-game losing streak with a win over Bonny Eagle (3-4) at Portland.

Caroline Taylor had four singles for Cheverus, driving in two and scoring twice. Katie Boynton also had two hits and two runs for the Stags, and Emily Haley added three hits.

Mackenzie Emery and Sadie Denico each had three hits, and Arianna Meijas had two for the Scots.

SACOPEE VALLEY 10, TRAIP ACADEMY 4: Brynn Hink struck out eight and hit a three-run double to lead the Hawks (5-1) over the Rangers (4-2) at South Hiram.

Sacopee scored six runs in the second inning.

GREELY 8, LAKE REGION 5: Madison Rawnsley hit two home runs to power the Rangers (5-2) past Lake Region (4-4) at Cumberland.

BOOTHBAY 10, ERSKINE ACADEMY 6: Sydney Meader scored three of her team-leading four goals in the first half as the Seahawks (3-1) opened a 7-3 halftime lead and held off the Eagles (0-2) at Boothbay Harbor.

CHEVERUS 8, LEWISTON 5: Zoe Mazur had two goals and an assist, and Mackenzie Johnston added a pair of goals to lead the Stags (1-2) past Lewiston (2-1) at Portland.

BONNY EAGLE 15, EDWARD LITTLE 10: Keelin Sweeney, Kaley Rumery and Allie Carpine scored three goals each as Bonny Eagle (1-3) beat the Saints (1-1) at Auburn.

LAKE REGION 16, WINDHAM 7: Shauna Hancock scored four goals for the Lakers (4-1) against the Eagles (2-2) at Naples.
