The co-owners of Quill Books & Beverage in Westbrook have taken the action of removing from their shelves books by Junot Diaz, a Pulitzer Prize-winning writer, for allegations of inappropriate sexual behaviors.
I plead with the bookstore’s co-owners to please remove books by Ernest Hemingway, Charles Dickens, Oscar Wilde, John F. Kennedy and Bill Clinton. And, while they are at it, let’s have a book-burning night followed by refreshments in their bookstore and perhaps a subject matter expert on the Joe McCarthy era.
