A local news article in the May 7 Press Herald (Page B3) refers to a man being charged with domestic assault in connection with the “choking” of a woman.
I seriously doubt he put a hot dog in her throat. What most likely occurred is that he “cut off blood flow or breath through pressure to the throat.”
Whether the victim lives or dies, this is strangulation. It is a felony, and it happens a lot to women. In the future, please call it for what it is.
