I am an exhibiting artist in the show currently at the Atrium Gallery at the University of Southern Maine Lewiston-Auburn College.

I have told the show’s curator, Janice Moore, that I oppose USM President Glenn Cummings’ decision to remove three paintings from the exhibit. I therefore told her to remove my painting as my protest of his action.

Cummings has stated that his reason for the removal of these paintings is that it is in the best interest of the school and students. His reason for removing the art is unacceptable to me. I don’t wish to be represented in this exhibition because of his action.
