In his TV ads, U.S. Rep. Bruce Poliquin always talks about his love for seniors, but he rarely talks about specific policies.

It turns out, there’s a reason for that. The Republican tax bill that Poliquin supported will create a massive deficit that triggers automatic cuts of $25 billion to Medicare. That’s a cut of more than $500 per Medicare recipient and means a $150 million loss of federal funding for Maine.

Bruce Poliquin has a net worth of over $12 million. He’s actually richer than House Speaker Paul Ryan, the millionaire who led the charge for the tax cut. So, it’s not surprising that Poliquin doesn’t think cutting $500 per recipient is a big deal, but to average Maine families, struggling on Social Security and disability, losing $500 can make you homeless, take away your ability to eat or even make health care unattainable.

Rep. Poliquin: Don’t just talk the talk. Walk the walk.
