RICHMOND — Brynn Hink pitched a three-hit shutout and Lakyn Hink had a run-scoring single in the fifth inning Monday as Sacopee Valley defeated Richmond 2-0 in a game between the top softball teams in Class C South and Class D South.

Sacopee (11-1) took a 1-0 lead in the first when Lakyn Hink, who led off the inning with a double, scored on a single by Grace Sanborn.

Lakyn Hink’s single in the fifth made it 2-0.

Sydney Tilton struck out nine and allowed eight hits for Richmond (9-1).

POLAND 8, FREEPORT 5: Leya Harvey scored on a fielder’s choice to break a 5-5 tie and Amanda’lyn Gagne followed with a two-run single as the Knights (7-6) beat the Falcons (2-11) at Freeport.

Gagne tied the game in the seventh, scoring on a sacrifice fly by Morgan Brousseau.

Megan Cormier hit a two-run double during a three-run third for Freeport.

OCEANSIDE 8, BELFAST 2: Chloe Jones struck out 11, and had two hits and an RBI as the Mariners (11-2) downed the Lions (6-6) at Belfast.

NOBLE 14, DEERING 1: Mackenzie Aleva had four hits with two triples and four RBI, Lauren Sanger added three hits, including an RBI triple, and the Knights (13-1) downed the Rams (0-14) at Portland.

Raegan Kelly, Kassidy Lessard and Abigail Sprague each added three of the 21 hits for Noble.

MacKenzie O’Donnell tripled and Livia Serappa added a double for Deering.

PORTLAND 2, CHEVERUS 1: The visiting Bulldogs (7-7) scored twice in the fifth inning, including an RBI single by Elaina Legere, and edged Cheverus/North Yarmouth Academy (3-11) at Portland.

Cheverus took the lead with an unearned run in the first.

BONNY EAGLE 3, SANFORD 2: Mackenzie Emery walked to lead off the bottom of the eighth inning, advanced to third on a sacrifice and a wild pitch, then scored the winning run when a Makala Greene foul pop-up carried the third baseman into dead ball territory as the Scots (7-7) defeated the Spartans (1-12) at Standish.

Bonny Eagle took the lead in the first when Sarah Champagne scored on Greene’s single, but Sanford moved ahead 2-1 on a two-run single by Grace Curley in the top of the fourth.

LAKE REGION 13, YORK 1: Haley Fernald doubled, tripled and drove in a pair of runs to pace a 19-hit offense as the Lakers (6-8) rolled past the Wildcats (4-9) in six innings at Naples.

Fernald, Julia Murch and Jordan Weese each had four hits.

GORHAM 3, MARSHWOOD 0: Grace McGouldrick threw a two-hit shutout, striking out 13 and walking one as the Rams (11-3) handled the Hawks (5-10) at Gorham.

Gorham scored in the first inning on a passed ball and added a pair of unearned runs in the sixth.

GREELY 2, WELLS 1: Kelsey Currier had 10 strikeouts as the Rangers (7-7) defeated the Warriors (9-4) in nine innings at Wells.

Currier doubled, then scored the winning run in the ninth.

WINDHAM 9, SOUTH PORTLAND 5: Chloe Wilcox and Alex Morang each drove in two runs in the fourth inning to lead the Eagles (9-5) past the Red Riots (6-8) at Windham.

Whitney Wilson struck out six, and allowed five hits, three walks and one earned run for Windham. Caila Elder had a solo homer.

MASSABESIC 17, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 3: Lacey Bean homered and finished with three RBI to lift Massabesic (11-4) past Maine Girls’ Academy/Falmouth (3-11) at Portland.

Grace Tutt had three hits and two RBI, including a homer, and Lauren Kiss added three hits and three RBI for the Mustangs, who totaled 18 hits.

SCARBOROUGH 14, BIDDEFORD 0: Samantha Carreiro and Lindsey Kelley each finished with two hits and three RBI for the Red Storm (14-0) against the Tigers (6-8) in a five-inning game at Biddeford.

Isabella Dickinson struck out eight through four innings and allowed two hits for Scarborough.

Brook Davis had two of Biddeford’s three hits.

LACROSSE

PORTLAND 10, NOBLE 2: Annika More scored three goals for the Bulldogs (8-2), who took a 6-1 halftime lead and beat the Knights (3-5) at North Berwick.

Chloe Kilbride and Morgan Kierstead each had two goals and an assist, and Abby Krieckhaus made 14 saves in goal.

SCARBOROUGH 9, GORHAM 8: Josie Patten scored with 4.3 seconds remaining in the second overtime as the Red Storm (2-7) rallied past the Rams (3-6) at Gorham.

Leah Manfra and Marielle Smith each scored three goals and Kathleen Murphy made seven saves for Scarborough, including three in overtime.

CHEVERUS 13, YORK 12: Ella Booth scored twice, including the winner with 3:32 remaining to lift the Stags (4-4) past the Wildcats (4-5) at Portland.

Mackenzie Johnston collected five goals, and Aisling Flaherty added four goals and two assists for Cheverus.

MORSE 10, BRUNSWICK 9: Emily Martin scored five goals, Mae Winglass added three and the Shipbuilders (5-5) held off the Dragons (3-7) at Bath.
