GRAY — Nick McCann and Josiah Rottari each hit RBI singles as part of a three-run second inning Tuesday as Gray-New Gloucester handed Wells a rare baseball loss, 5-3.

William Shufelt went the distance for the Patriots (8-5), allowing three runs on six hits and two walks, striking out five.

Wells (11-2) took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on Cam Cousins’ RBI double and Michael Wrigley’s RBI triple.

MASSABESIC 9, FALMOUTH 2: Nicholas Roberge and Alexander Schepis each hit two-run singles during a six-run fifth inning as the Mustangs (2-10) beat the Yachtsmen (7-6) in Falmouth.

Roberge allowed two runs and struck out one over four innings to earn the win; Tyler Lambert had four hits and Jacob Gregoire added three.

BIDDEFORD 6, KENNEBUNK 4: Ian Couture hit the go-ahead two-run double in the fifth inning to lift the Tigers (8-5) over the Rams (4-9) in Biddeford.

Kennebunk took a 3-2 lead in the fourth on an RBI double by Derek Smith.

Brice Springer earned his first save of the season, striking out the final two batters.

CHEVERUS 4, PORTLAND 1: Jack Mullen struck out four and allowed three hits to lead the Stags (8-5) over the Rams (9-4) in Portland.

Maxx St. John hit an RBI double in the first inning and added a sacrifice fly in the fourth. Cam Dube and Chris Cimino each had RBI singles.

Portland scored on an error in the second inning.

DEERING 5, SANFORD 3: The Rams (6-7) scored four runs in the second inning and defeated the Spartans (5-8) in Sanford.

All four of the Deering runs in the second inning were unearned and came with two outs, as Sanford made two errors.

Michael Jones earned the win, allowing six walks with three earned runs and four strikeouts in 41/3 innings.

BONNY EAGLE 6, MARSHWOOD 3: Ethan Hamilton put the Scots (5-8) ahead 4-3 in the fifth, scoring on an infield error, as they held on to beat the Hawks (7-6) in Standish.

Casey Maturo scored later in the inning on a fielder’s choice to make it 5-3.

Marshwood took a 2-0 lead in the fourth when Quinn McDaniel hit an RBI single, driving in Jack Cahill, but Connor Sirois hit a two-run single in the bottom of the inning to tie the game.

WELLS 13, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 11: Franny Ramsdell scored four goals to lead the Warriors (3-6) over the Raiders (4-6) in Wells.

Kylie Belanger, Kristina Moody and Jade Petrie each added two scores for Wells.

ST. DOMINIC 14, GREELY 13: The Saints (7-2) scored in overtime to defeat the Rangers (7-2) in Cumberland.

Caroline Gastonguay scored six goals to lead St. Dominic, and Charlotte Gastonguay had four.

Courtney Sullivan scored four goals for Greely, and Brooke Clement, Katie Bennert and Jayme Morrison each had two.

MASSABESIC 12, MARSHWOOD 4: Morgan Pike scored four goals and Madison Drain had three goals with two assists as the Mustangs (10-0) rolled past the Hawks (2-7) in South Berwick.

BIDDEFORD 13, MAINE GIRLS’ ACADEMY 5: Peyton McKeown scored four goals, Abby Allen added three and the Tigers (8-2) jumped to a 5-1 halftime lead to beat the Lions (2-7) in Biddeford.

Catherine Reid scored four goals for the Lions.

BONNY EAGLE 14, NOBLE 4: Allexius Theberge scored three goals as the Scots (3-6) cruised past the Knights (3-6) in Standish.

PORTLAND 12, WESTBROOK 3: Georgia Stoddard and Annika More each scored three goals to lead the Rams (9-2) over the Blue Blazes (1-8) in Westbrook.

NOBLE 16, CHEVERUS/NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 2: Raegan Kelly struck out eight and added four hits to lead the Knights (14-1) over the Stags (3-12) in North Berwick.

Kelly (14-1) tossed a complete game, allowing a walk and six hits with two earned runs.

SKOWHEGAN 9, MT. ARARAT 0: Ashley Alward threw a two-hitter, striking out 18, and went 2 for 4 with a triple as the Indians (13-0) rolled past the Eagles (6-8) in Skowhegan.

LINCOLN ACADEMY 10, ERSKINE ACADEMY 9: Nate Simmons had three goals and three assists, Nolen Michael scored twice and Lincoln Academy (10-1) beat Erskine Academy (4-5) in South China.

Ethan Furlong and Seth Reed each scored twice for Erskine.

GORHAM 6, WESTBROOK 5: Brogan McDonald hit a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the eighth, scoring Will Prescott, as the Rams (8-4) rallied to beat the Blue Blazes (1-12) in Gorham.

Gorham tied the game in the seventh when Nolan Brown scored on an error.

The Rams trailed 5-2 heading into the fifth, but Lucas Roop hit a two-run double to cut the deficit to one.

Matthew Eugley hit a two-run double, and Curtis Knapton hit an RBI single during a three-run third for Westbrook.
