GARDINER — After seeing its lead slip away late, the Gardiner baseball team wasted little time getting it back.

The Tigers scored the go-ahead run in bottom of the sixth inning after surrendering the tying tally in the top half, then held on to secure a 3-2 victory over Morse in a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class B matchup.

Cole Lawrence and Chandler Moran each had two hits and an RBI to lead the Tigers’ offense, while Alic Shorey pitched into the seventh to pick up the win for Gardiner (11-3).

Asa Hodgdon had a double and a single for Morse (5-9), while Parker Onorato had a double.

BASEBALL

EDWARD LITTLE 13, CONY 4: The Red Eddies used seven runs in the sixth inning to open up a 6-4 game and roll to the KVAC A victory in Auburn.

Maxx Bell had a three-run home run for Edward Little (13-2), while Ethan Brown had three doubles while also going the distance on the mound.

Riley Geyer, Kyle Douin and Tyler Dostie all had doubles for the Rams (4-10).

SOFTBALL

MONMOUTH 13, WISCASSET 0: Emily Chasse had two singles and a double to lead the Mustangs to a Mountain Valley Conference win over the Wolverines in Wiscasset.

Abby Ferland had a a single and a triple, while Abby Flanagan had four singles for Monmouth (9-5). Mariah Herr had a single and a double.

Leah Potter had two singles for Wiscasset (2-12).

OAK HILL 12, SPRUCE MTN. 0, 5 INN.: Molly Flaherty went 4-for-4 with five RBI, leading the Raiders to the MVC victory in Wales.

Sadie Waterman went 2-for-3 with an RBI for Oak Hill (12-2), while Rylea Swan and Abby Nadeau had two hits and an RBI apiece.

Spruce Mountain fell to 8-5.

OXFORD HILLS 12, ERSKINE 0, 5 innings: Five Vikings had at least two hits in the KVAC win in South Paris.

Kenzie Kahkonen hit a single and triple for Oxford Hills. Four Eagles each had a single.

GIRLS LACROSSE

MESSALONSKEE 17, BANGOR 2: Lauren Pickett and Jenna Cassani each scored three goals to lead the Eagles to a win over the Rams in Bangor.

Aly Turners notched two goals for Messalonskee (6-3). Kaitlyn Smith, Chloe Tilley, Gabby Smart, Katie Seekins, Jenna Nash, Abby Barney, Sophia Fortini, Paige Meader and Ainsely Corson added goals for the Eagles.

Giovanna Tompkins led Bangor (0-9) with two goals.

LEWISTON 15, GARDINER 7: Christine Chasse scored six goals to lead the Blue Devils to the KVAC victory in Gardiner.

Grace Dumont had three goals for Lewiston (6-4), and Cece Racine had 14 saves.

Hailee Lovely had three goals and Bailey Poore had two for the Tigers (3-6), while Anna Chadwick and Evelyn Hinkley had one goal apiece. Willow Lavoie (10 saves) and Julia Hinkley (six saves) split netminding duties.
