TURNER — A head-on collision in the town of Turner early Thursday morning killed a Jay man and hospitalized Livermore man.

The Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office said it is investigating the crash, which happened at about 1 a.m. on Route 4 near the Livermore town line.

Route 4 was closed for about four hours and reopened shortly after 5 a.m.

William Rodgers, 54, was killed in the accident. Rodgers was driving a 2014 Dodge Caravan southbound when he collided with a 2011 Jeep Liberty traveling north. The Jeep’s driver, 23-year-old Christian J. Parlin was transported to Central Maine Medical Center. No more details were provided about his injuries.

Deputies were assisted at the scene by the Maine State Police and Lewiston Police Department who were conducting the reconstruction and forensic mapping. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
