NEW HIRES
Maine Medical Partners announces the following new hires:
Karen Dmytrasz, M.D., joined Maine Medical Partners–Geriatric Medicine.
Dr. Dmytrasz will be seeing patients at the outpatient Geriatric Center, St. Joseph’s Rehabilitation and Residence, and other nursing home locations. She will also be the interim medical director at Hospice of Southern Maine.
Claudia Picone, M.D., joined MMP–Hospital Medicine.
Dr. Picone is board certified in internal medicine. She was previously with Eastern Maine Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bangor.

Forest Sheppard, M.D., has joined MMP–Acute Care Surgery.
Dr. Sheppard is board certified in surgery and the subspecialty of surgical critical care by the American Board of Surgery.

 

Nathan J. Aranson, M.D., joined MMP–Surgical Care.
Dr. Aranson is double board certified in general and vascular surgery. After his fellowship, he worked at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle for two years, caring for patients across the spectrum of vascular illness.
Toby Fitzgerald, D.O., joined MMP–Maternal Fetal Medicine.
Dr. Fitzgerald has been practicing in the Portland area since 2010. Dr. Fitzgerald received her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed her residency at Maine Medical Center.

Karyn Woelflein, M.D., has joined the Pain Center at Mercy Hospital.
Dr. Woelflein is board-certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation. She joins Mercy after more than 15 years of practicing in Maine. She was previously at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, as well as private practice in Brunswick and Lewiston.

BOARD APPOINTMENTS
Mercy Hospital announced that Dr. Laura Blaisdell of InterMed; and Lisa Toner, most recently of Maine Public, have joined its board of trustees.

Dr. Blaisdell completed a residency in pediatrics at Maine Medical Center in 2005. She is a practicing pediatrician and currently serves as the chair of the department of pediatrics at InterMed.

 

Lisa Toner, Esq., recently retired as director of human resources for Maine Public Broadcasting Network. Prior to joining Maine Public, she was vice president of legal affairs for Hannaford Bros. She lives in Portland.
