BIDDEFORD — Raymond D. LaBelle, 85, of Biddeford passed away on Sunday morning, June 3, 2018, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.
He was born on Feb. 4, 1933, in Biddeford, a son of Medric and Ernestine (Dubois) LaBelle. He graduated from Biddeford High School.
Raymond was employed at West Point Pepperell for 19 years and later as an electrician for the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring in 1995.
When he wasn’t working, he loved fishing, hunting and tying flies. He enjoyed his grandchildren’s sporting events and activities the most. He was a lifelong Biddeford Tigers Football fan.
Throughout his life, Mr. LaBelle realized the importance of his faith and was a parishioner of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford.
He was predeceased by his wife Gabrielle (Guay) LaBelle on Oct. 31, 2009 and by two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his four children, Richard LaBelle and his wife Melanie of Sanford, Priscilla Bouffard and her husband Kenneth of Saco, Conrad LaBelle and wife Donna of Ennis, Montana and Donna Bird and husband David of Lagrange, Kentucky. He also is survived by 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at St. Joseph’s Church in Biddeford. A graveside service will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery, Saco.
