Voting in the primaries isn’t as sexy as voting in November, but mercifully, it’s just as easy: Walk, bicycle, drive or be driven, even pop the ballot in the mail. Yet choosing a candidate can be daunting; dull, even. That being said, we the people are blessed with the hard-won right to have a hand in the doings of government.

Herb Adams was a Democratic state representative from 2002 to 2010, and on June 12, Maine House District 40 constituents are presented with the opportunity to return him to Augusta, an action I enthusiastically endorse. I met him 15 years ago and am proud to count him among my good friends. Countless people attest to Mr. Adams’ dedication, fine character and institutional knowledge, so necessary to effectively advocate for us all.

An educator, historian and your neighbor, experienced legislator Herb Adams will hit the ground running. He’s truly an uncommon champion for the common good. Please vote for him in the June 12 Democratic primary.
