With ranked-choice voting in an election with, say, three candidates, the candidate receiving the most votes but less than 50 percent in the first round could still lose the election. That is why I’m voting only for my first choice on June 12.
It is also why I’ll be voting “no” on the ranked-choice voting referendum question.
