LIVERMORE FALLS — Officials say one person died and two children saved themselves by jumping from a second-floor window when a fire swept through a home in Livermore Falls.
The state fire marshal’s office reports that the single-family home was engulfed by the time firefighters arrived after being summoned shortly after 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Officials say two pre-teens living in the home escaped the flames by jumping. One of them was hospitalized after falling to the ground.
Identities weren’t immediately released.
Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said a team of fire marshal investigators is working with Livermore Falls firefighters to determine the cause of the fire.
