All this consternation about illegal immigrants and detention centers puzzles me. Unaccompanied children have been detained under the Clinton, Bush and Obama administrations. During that time, the media, along with various political opposition groups, gave the matter a “good leaving alone.”
Fast forward to the current Trump administration. What has changed?
Well, in my opinion, plenty. Most importantly, the fact that the political and media establishment is throwing everything but the kitchen sink at the president because, in their collective minds, he doesn’t belong in the White House.
President Trump took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States. He is simply abiding by his oath – a refreshing change from previous administrations.
When he was a media cash cow, all was fine. He was good for business. The position of the press was “Nothing to see here, folks. Move along.”
