A confrontation that led to a shooting that injured two people in East Bayside Sunday afternoon is still under investigation, police said on Monday.
Investigators were still doing interviews and waiting to speak to people, said Lt. Robert Martin, a Portland Police spokesman.
The shooting injured an 18-year-old woman inside a red Jeep Patriot the intersection of Cumberland Avenue and Mayo Street, near the Kennedy Park housing complex.
Police responded after a resident reported hearing gunshots and found the injured woman. An officer located another injured person, a 30-year-old unidentified man, on Marginal Way near the water treatment facility.
Portland Police Lt. Robert Martin said the woman was released from the hospital Monday morning after undergoing treatment. The man’s condition was unknown Monday, but Martin said his injuries were also considered non-life threatening.
