Brice Springer pitched a five-hit shutout, Nolan Brown drove in Trevor Loubier with a sacrifice fly in the third inning, and Yankee Ford got past Coastal Landscape 1-0 in an American Legion game Thursday.

Springer walked one and struck out two in helping Yankee Ford improve to 12-2.

Jack Casale threw a complete game for Coastal Landscape (11-4), allowing four hits and two walks while striking out six.

SCARBOROUGH, SOUTH PORTLAND SPLIT: Brennan Dill hit a two-run triple, Joe Townsend had a two-run double, and Nick Thompson added an RBI single as Scarborough (9-2) rode a five-run first inning to a 10-0 win over South Portland (7-1) in the first game of a doubleheader at Scarborough.

Dill finished with three hits and four RBI.

In the second game, Bradley McMains pitched six scoreless innings of relief to help South Portland secure a 3-0 win.

Anthony Poole hit a two-run single in the first inning, and Ryan Brewer scored on a wild pitch in the fifth.

GREELY SWEEPS BONNY EAGLE: Connor Sullivan singled home Evan Wyman in the bottom of the seventh to lift Greely to a 1-0 win over Bonny Eagle in the opener of a doubleheader at Cumberland.

Will Neleski pitched a three-hitter, striking out five.

Greely won the second game 7-1 behind a six-run first inning. Ryan Kolben and Brooks Williams each hit an RBI single.

GREATER PORTLAND 43, LEWISTON 3: Brady Coyne had five hits and five RBI, and Aiden Lee, Nic Frink, Ben Seguin and Bob Wing added four hits apiece as Greater Portland rolled past Lewiston in a state tournament game at South Portland.

Greater Portland will play the Lewiston-Augusta winner at 3 p.m. Friday for the state title.

MAINERS 9, MUSKRATS 4: Conner Shepherd hit a three-run homer as part of a five-run second inning as Sanford (15-11) downed visiting Winnipesaukee (8-21).

Tyler Solomon doubled, tripled and drove in a run, and Nick Howie added a two-run single in the fifth inning to put Sanford ahead 8-2.

SURGE 8, EXPLORERS 2: Daniel Dominguez drove in five runs, including three on a double in the second, and Old Orchard Beach (10-13) beat Aguada (7-13) at The Ballpark.

Bradford Fulton struck out six in seven innings, allowing one run on seven hits to earn the win.
